FOIA (FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT) LITIGATION
EPIC v. U.S. Forest Service, Published Ninth Circuit decision, 432 F.3d 945 (9th Cir. 2005), setting aside fees charged by the U.S. Forest Service for GIS (Geospatial Information System) data requested under FOIA, resulting in release of all requested data and waiver of any fees.
Institute for Policy Studies v. Central Intelligence Agency, (D.C. Circuit No. 06-CV-00960) Suit brought to address CIA failure to provide records requested, CIA failure to conduct proper search for records, and CIA denial of full FOIA fee waiver. Pending.
Friends of Suisun Marsh v. Army Corps of Engineers, (N.D. Cal. Civ. No. C99-3445 MEJ). Court judgment in plaintiff’s favor, resulting in Army Corps’ release of documents and waiver of fees.
EPIC v. National Marine Fisheries Service, (N.D. Cal. Civ. No. C98-3442 VRW.) Settlement resulting in release by National Marine Fisheries Services of requested documents.

Riverlaw v. State Water Board et al., Settlement resulting in greater access to records of California State Water Resources Control Board and all nine Regional Water Boards in California, and changes to agencies’ internal policies.
The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association v. University of California, Berkeley, California Public Records Act litigation resulting in release of documents.
BROWN OPEN MEETING ACT LITIGATION
